We’ve reached an incredible milestone – The Urbanists turns 20! To mark the occasion, we brought the whole team together for a fantastic two-day trip to the stunning Celtic Manor.
The trip was the perfect blend of reflection and forward-thinking. We engaged in hands-on workshops focused on shaping our next business plan, fostering collaboration and sparking fresh ideas. But it wasn’t all work! We also embraced a range of exciting activities – from high ropes and the driving range to laser tag, archery, and even axe throwing. A true testament to our team spirit and appetite for new challenges!
The celebrations culminated in a memorable company dinner and drinks, where we had the chance to connect, reflect, and celebrate together. Looking back over the past two decades, our journey has been one of significant evolution.
As we celebrate this anniversary, we want to acknowledge our roots and extend our gratitude to our founder, Martin Sullivan, who helped establish The Urbanists alongside the Directors of Powell Dobson Architects in 2005 and helped create the foundation for who we are today.
Since becoming an Employee-Owned business in 2019, we haven’t looked back. This stable ownership model, combined with the experience of our long-standing team, the trust of loyal clients, and the energy of new joiners, has created a strong foundation for continued success.
Another major milestone was the opening of our Bristol office two and a half years ago, which marked a new chapter of growth and ambition.
With a track record of successful projects, enduring client relationships, and collaborative partnerships, we’re stepping into the next 20 years with confidence and excitement.
